CENTRE FOR MIGRATION STUDIES

The Centre for Migration Studies was established in November 2006 and formally launched in November 2007 at the University of Ghana to undertake research, teaching, training, capacity building, policy assessment, development and dissemination in the area of migration.

Centre for Migration Studies is the first Centre in the West African sub-region and is seeking to be a regional leader in learning, teaching and research and is suitably located in the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Kingdom Exim Group Donates Interactive…

Kingdom Exim Group has donated an interactive flat panel and several desktop computers to the Centre for Migration Studies (CMS), University of Ghana, to support classroom modernisation, facilitate lectures, and strengthen research and administrative work at the Centre.

A delegation from the Group, led by the Group President and Chairman, Dr. James Kwame Rajamani, included the Group CEO, Dr. Immanuel Rajamani, the General Manager, Ms. Alberta Addoquaye, and the Operations Manager, Ms. Edwina Edinam Akorli.

The Centre for Migration Studies at the University of Ghana (CMS-UG) is pleased to announce that it will be celebrating its 20th Anniversary in 2026. To mark this important landmark, CMS-UG will host a year-long celebration that highlights its two decades of excellence in migration scholarship, policy engagement and transformative partnerships.

Ghana Launches Community Engagement and…

A new Community Engagement and Policing (CEP) Strategy, Curriculum and Training Manual developed to strengthen border security and place communities at the heart of migration governance has been formally launched by the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS).

The launch, which coincided with International Migrants Day 2025, was carried out in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the Ministry of the Interior, and other key partners.
